2012 was a year full of minimalism, soft colors (contrasting last trend) and a lot of technology involved with fashion. To ipad sleeves to advanced fabrics with digital prints and laser cuts. In art, the trend of soft collages related with fashion was huge; we can also see the high tech collages of Clark Golsby.

In the other hand we got this eternal crush with the cute, fresh and free spirited trend. We have plenty of pastel colored inspirations, not only from this year. As always, we love the Wildfox lookbook full of fun and feminity, and yes, we love the full package of this trend in the college graduation collection of Yvone Kwok. The flower crowns were a big trend this year, to Tavi Gevinson to Lana del Rey using it everywhere.

A macaroon ice-creamed trend we got to love, includes an edition of Nicola Formichetti curating a Dazed and Confused issue. Kyary Pamyu in the cover.

El 2012 estuvo lleno de minimalismo, colores suaves (contrastando la tendencia mostrada anteriormente) y mucha tecnología involucrada con la moda. Desde fundas de Ipad a telas con tecnología implementada, estampados digitales y cortes con láser. En el arte, la tendencia de los collages suaves relacionados con moda fue muy grande; podemos mencionar los collages “High tech” de Clark Golsby.

De forma opuesta tenemos el amor eterno con la tendencia dulce, fresca, de espíritu libre. Tenemos incontables inspiraciones en colores pastel, no únicamente del 2012. Como siempre, amamos el lookbook de Wildfox, lleno de diversión y femineidad, al igual que el paquete completo de la tendencia incluido en la colección de graduación de Yvonne Kwok. Las coronas de flores fueron un gran acontecimiento, de Tavi Gevinson a Lana del Rey usándolas por todas partes.

Una tendencia de macaroons con helado que debemos amar, que además incluye la edición de Dazed and Confused curada por Nichola Formichetti con Kyaru Pamyu en la portada.

2012 was such a great year to remember. We resume the best year’s trends that made us dream and get passionate about the fashion environment again. This post is sponsored by Médium.

2012 fue un gran año para recordar. Resumimos las mejores tendencias que nos hicieron soñar y apasionarnos con el ambiente de la moda de nuevo.    Este post es traído a ustedes por Médium. 

Es momento de pensar, de analizar y de iniciar revoluciones. La moda ha sido siempre una buena aliada      de los fenómenos sociales, es un reflejo de todos los eventos y cambios que ocurren en la sociedad. Esta tendencia se enfoca en el poder de los medios sociales, los fuertes movimientos sociales como Occupy Wall St. Y las personas con gran espíritu  quienes nos inspiraron para luchar por nuestros derechos como Mona Eltahawy y Mia Farrow. Si observan las imágenes, pueden sentir el poder del que hablamos, los eternos y fuertes colores oscuros contrastados con un toque de amarillo y ciruela, algunos de los colores favoritos en tendencia este año.  

El falso apocalipsis y el huracán Sandy no nos detuvieron, aún estamos de pie juntos gracias a la globalización y esperamos que éste poder comunitario crezca en 2013, empoderado con más imágenes icónicas, cortesía de muchos buenos talentos que están surgiendo y mostrando cuan profesionales y profundos pueden ser junto a su equipo, aun cuando no son Demarchelier y Grace Coddington.

Tomando palabras prestadas diré que me encuentro en el epicentro del fin del mundo (sarcásticamente, por supuesto). Vivo a pocos kilómetros de las tierras que hace menos de 2000 años fueron habitadas por la Civilización Maya. Sin exagerar ni hacer mucha publicidad, confieso que siempre he experimentado esa vibra ancestral en el ambiente, razón por la cual siento el llamado de vez en cuando a visitar estos sitios arqueológicos aprovechando la gran ventaja de encontrarme a pocos minutos de ellos.

Taking a few of borrowed words I’ll say that am in the epicenter of the end of the world (sarcastically of course!). I am a few kms. distance from the lands that less than 2000 years ago were occupied by the Mayan Civilization. Without exaggeration and spoilers, I confessed that I have been feeling the ancestral vibe in the atmosphere, reason why am called to go to this archeological sites once in a while. (Considering my distance advantage).

Iximché no es el más majestuoso sitio en cuanto a arqueología, sin embargo me siento altamente atraída por su simplicidad y la naturaleza característica del área rural cercana, que incluye diversas especies de flora y fauna, sobretodo aves que habitan en el lugar y se suman a la sinfonía silvestre dirigida por el sonar de las hojas de los árboles.

Si pudiera me mudaría cerca del sitio arqueológico e iría a leer a Leonard Cohen todas las tardes en compañía de la hojarasca y los templos ceremoniales.

If I could, I would move near to Iximché and go to read Leonard Cohen every single afternoon with the litterfall and the ceremonial temples. 

Because of the cold weather in the beginning of the year i was forced to alter my pseudo-autumn (ish) outfit with an extra jacket and socks, but this wasn´t enough to stop me to use one of my favorite vintage dresses, with this neckline that evokes a childhood am refusing to abandon. Again, the dress is part of my mother closet and the jacket, i must tell, part of my father closet. The oxfords are from Zara and the purse a gift you already know. Have a nice weekend and prepare yourself for the change!
