Trends: Modern Lust

Contrasting and completing all the minimalism, we got recently a baroque craze. Embroidery, golden sculptures, so much Dolce & Gabanna and Alexander McQueen to end up with a golden brooch the trend of lace and flower prints.

We can understand how related is this to our poor economy, we can have a little luxury detail and afford a pop-up accessory more than an entire outfit, especially if the style is not going to last until the next Reagan rescue plan.

The main references? Street-wear pictures from fashion weeks and bloggers around the world. Viva la arm party, coloring our outfits like a rainbow, prints over prints and the Italian style decoration.

La locura por el barroco surge para contrastar y complementar todo el minimalismo de las tendencias anteriores. Bordados, esculturas doradas, mucho Dolce & Gabbana y Alexander McQueen para terminar con broche de oro la gran tendencia de estampados florales y encajes que nos acompaña desde hace varias temporadas.

Entendemos la relación de ésta tendencia con nuestra pobre economía. Podemos tener un pequeño detalle lujoso y costear un accesorio que destaque más que un atuendo completo, especialmente si el estilo no sobrevivirá el próximo plan de rescate tipo Reagan.

¿Las principales referencias? Fotografías de Street-style tomadas en semanas de la moda y bloggers alrededor del mundo. Viva la “arm party”, colorear tal arcoíris nuestros atuendos, estampados sobre estampados y decoración estilo italiano.

I had so much fun looking for the perfect total black outfit in Net-a-porter, no limit price. This is a super luxury wishlist with a lot of "out of the runway" pieces like this Dolce and Gabanna "Star-print goat hair and shearling coat" at only $10,200.00 -I think this coat is amazing, the fur and stars, so trendy-

Then i needed the perfect dress, something versatile but stylish. I fell in love with this Preen Line "Simone pleated leather dress". The skirt is perfect, i think this could be worn with a shirt under and a lot of blazers, cardigans and vests to layer this beauty. I wish i could pay $1,400.00 for this baby.

Luxury and jewerly are similar words.This is why this "Lislia oxidized multi-strand brass necklace" is perfect for this outfit. A different design made of chains, is a win-win combination thanks to the multiply metal colors on it. $995.00 at Net-a-porter.

We need a great pair of shoes right? Well, i wanted a sophisticated pair, but not too showy to fight with the coat. This Dolce and Gabanna, "Over-the-knee leather boots", part of the coat collection is perfect for it. A $1,225.00 investment.

Am a HUGE fan of rings, this one is exactly my taste and goes great with the outfit. Dominic Jones "Talon 23-karat black gold-plated ring" is a delicious piece we are going to treasure forever in our jewerly box. Worth every dollar of $415.00 it cost.

Maybe this is too much for the outfit but, sometimes we want to contradict Coco Chanel and put on more pieces. ( Yeah, ask me, sometimes am a living piñata). Following the ring style, i found this Philippe Audibert
"Uma silver-plated cuff " that looks amazing to this "way too much" total black outfit. $640.00

Sunny outside? No worries, this Linda Farrow Luxe "Python-coated cat-eye frame sunglasses" ( yes, python!) are going to make us feel like Holly Golightly on sunday. Only $735.00 (come on, is python!)

Need a wallet? This "Prisma Biker calf hair wallet" is the solution. $295.00

To end this outfit, we need a bag to carry the make up and all those gadgets. Those who follow and visit my tumblr LAZYCATMIND can tell am obssesed with this "New Bamboo stud-embellished leather tote" and am saving every penny to buy it ( wish me luck with that, i need $4,200.00).

At the end of my imaginary shopping day i need $20,105.00 to make this total black outfit a dream come true. Too much right? Well, dream is free after all. Have a nice week you all!

Spring again

Is this good? i love winter, i still feel cold but the spring collections are in ALL the editorials and we can´t escape, am starting to feel anxious to use all the spring summer trends! i can´t wait.

Am not a huge fan of this photoshoot, but i discovered a couple of key pieces (maybe the Alexander Mcqueen shoes are iconic more than key!) to check for the spring. I absolutely love the fresh and young makeup, am gonna try the pop colors in my eyes. The Proenza Shouler yellow dress, in the third picture, has a MUST print for me, i fell in love with all the prints and silhuettes in that collection.

And the Alexander Mcqueen shoes, oooh my favorite thing from all the spring collections! i want them so bad! i know i can´t have it, sadly i know it. Still i can admire them in all the editorials and also in Daphne Guiness and Lady Gaga's foot.

Look at the socks, i think that lenght is definitly a trend. Remember the Burburry collection, the perfect match with the sandals and soft colors. I think nude color is back again but this time maybe we can find it on accesories, like socks (i prefer nude than this tie dye green in the picture)

i just have to say, better enjoy every winter piece left 'cause spring is closer!

Alexander McQueen´s fall-winter ads

I really like Alexande McQueen´s mastermind, he is one of my favorite designers and this season is not so bad. I just hate the shoes and the pseudo-Kylie Minogue look in the stripes look. Actually the red-black and the kind-of-spiderweb are a deja vu of the White Stripes mixed with a Tim Burton´s movie.

The birdstooth (instead of houndstooth) jacket is amazing. I love how looks everything together, including the fur vest or jacket (i think is a jacket), the big trend of this season. That look is very casual compared with the others, i like the touch of darkness in the tailored "Twork suits", maybe one day ill wear something like these... Oooh! i almost forget, the advertising is ok!
