Terciopelo. Clases de historia. Invierno. Recuerdo una vieja película en blanco y negro acerca de la realeza inglesa. Escasos ocho años fueron suficientes para reconocer a distancia el material del cortinaje: terciopelo.
Desde entonces tuve fascinación con el material. La sensación de suavidad y fortaleza a la vez, de movimiento y rigidez, tantas contradicciones que sembraron en mi una increíble ansia de tocar las hebras a través de la pantalla.
Velvet. History lessons. Winter. I remember an old black and white movie about English royalty. Only eight years old were enough to recognize at distance the curtain material: velvet.
Since then I had a fascination with the material. The feeling of softness and strength at the same time, movement and stiffness, so many contradictions that seeded an incredible desire to touch the strands through the screen.
El cortinaje era rojo carmesí, el mismo tono del traje roído de terciopelo de la imagen de la Virgen María en la Iglesia del pueblo donde correteábamos los fines de semana mientras los adultos se encargaban de asuntos importantes. Recuerdo que una parte del manto de la imagen se encontraba desteñido y manchado por los destellos de sol que entraban en una diminuta ventana dentro de la Iglesia con arquitectura neo-gótica.
The curtain was crimson red, the same shade of the gnawed velvet suit that adorned the Virgin Mary image inside the village church where we ran on weekends while the adults took care of important matters. I remember one part of the mantle of the image was faded and stained by sunlight that came in a tiny window in the Neo-Gothic church.

Tranquilos, hablo de Coca-Cola, no me denuncien ante la DEA. El asunto es que ando con adicción extrema a éste líquido que seguro es mas adictivo que muchas drogas satanizadas por la Tea-party. No sólo a los vasos de 8 onzas con tres cubos de hielo en un vaso alto ( la estética del vaso es muy importante!), sino también a los “souvenirs” que me recuerdan la legendaria marca.
Relax, I am talking about Coca-Cola, don´t report me to the DEA. The point is that I'm extremely addicted to this liquid that is surely more addictive than many drugs demonized by the Tea-party. Not only the 8-ounce glasses with three ice cubes in a tall glass (glass aesthetics is very important!), But also the "souvenirs" that remind me the legendary brand.
Éste suéter lleva varios años en mi poder y sorpresivamente no ha perdido ni su forma ni color, aún cuando me ha acompañado las 24 horas del día en muchas ocasiones. Me encanta la sutileza del logo y su corte clásico-deportivo.

Últimamente mis atuendos son una mezcla de prendas extremamente formales y elegantes contrarrestado con su antítesis casual; por lo tanto éste suéter tenía que entrar en juego. La falda fue cortesía de un intercambio (Andrea, tienes el mejor closet del mundo!), y la Maxi-cartera es de mi adorada marca Médium (No hay forma de que se quede sin espacio! Quieres llevar a tu pastor alemán contigo? No hay problema, seguro cabe! ). Complemento mi atuendo con accesorios de Pixie. ( Ese collar es increible! Lo uso incluso para dormir. )
Lately my outfits are a mix of extremely formal and elegant balanced with its antithesis casual clothes, so this sweater had to come into play. Antes de que se extienda mi pseudo-stand up de comedia debo agregar mis mejores deseos para el 2014. No les presenté un post de recuerdos del 2013 porque con videos de Instagram y resúmenes en distintos blogs es más que suficiente. Además confieso haber estado muy ocupada bebiendo egg-nog en distintas fiestas y revisando hasta el cansancio mi mail ( como toda adicta al trabajo). Bueno, no digamos más, brindemos con un vaso alto de coca-cola por un 2014 lleno de energía positiva y zapatos Jason Wu!
Before extending my pseudo-stand up comedy I must add my best wishes for 2014. I didn´t present a post of the best of 2013 because Instagram videos and collages on various blogs is more than enough. I also confess to having been too busy drinking egg-nog at different parties and checking my mail (like every workaholic). Despite not being a great fan of the holidays, I admit that I have enjoyed meeting with friends and family, enjoy a snack in that only December allows and finally sit in a corner to read after the post holiday sales/shopping anxiety.

La temperatura empieza a caer, la niebla también. Los suéteres salen a pasear en todo su esplendor tras permanecer ocultos en un espacio del closet o tal vez olvidados en el desorden del interior de un baúl.

Cartera vintage, botas tipo Chelsie con púas de Zara, collar de Médium y mi accesorio favorito; mis anteojos en forma de corazón de Pixie.
Y también este hermoso anillo de ojo, ¿podría ser más perfecto?
Luckily for me, I can finally use this asymmetrical sweater with multicolored strands that I couldn´t wear so far. The perfect combination? Vintage wallet, spiked Chelsie boots from Zara, coins Médium necklace and my favorite accessory, my heart shaped sunglasses from Pixie.
And yes! This gorgeous eye ring, could be more perfect?

Yesterday jam: Vintage treasures
Maybe you saw our Giveaway post and
notice one of this unpublished pictures. I am OBSSESED with Vintage coats,
jacket and blazers, and i was
in heaven when I
met
this baby in the thrift store some weeks ago.
I guess there is something magic in
vintage treasures, the stories behind the piece, the mystery
of
the previous owner. Think in a positive way about a used piece was very hard
for me at the beginning
but
at the end i got
the crush with the unique pieces, the charming of an old design and old trends
that never fades.
Is the previous owner of my military
jacket alive? Is a guy or a girl? Is this jacket a heritage of a genius
mind,
lost in some corner of the world? Maybe some day I will
know, the possibilities says that definitely i am not going to know but maybe History
Chanel buy my story and makes a reality show to track all the previous owners
of all my vintage closet.
Until that happened, i am going to wear this wonderful jacket,
with my favorite last season modern pieces, like my Médium
"Frida"
block in color clutch and the "Moon" Médium necklace. And yes,
