Médium "Neu" Collection

Siempre me han gustado los espacios grandes y minimalistas, principalmente porque desde niña pensé que eran los mejores para llenar de ideas. Hoy en día lo sigo pensando, me encanta tener espacios vacíos, limpios y amplios para los pensamientos y la serenidad. 

I've always loved big, minimalist spaces, mainly because as a child I thought they were the best to fill with ideas. Today I keep thinking that, I love filling empty, clean and large spaces with thoughts and serenity.


Tal vez por eso sentí identificación inmediata cuando me mostraron la locación para las últimas fotos de la nueva colección de Médium. La mezcla de rojo y blanco hizo todo perfecto y no quedaba más que llenarlo de ideas. 

Maybe that's why I felt immediate identification when I saw the location for the latest pictures of the new collection of Médium. The mixture of red and white made ​​everything perfect and there was only one thing left to do; filling it with ideas.


El minimalismo del lugar contrasta con las pinceladas folclóricas que caracterizan las piezas de Médium, sin embargo la modernidad y estilo de la marca se encuentran cada vez más visibles y combinan a la perfección con el concepto, apoyado por las lindas fotografías de nuestro colaborador Mauricio Díaz y la sensacional modelo Kris Bailey, quien se unió a nuestro equipo por primera vez y es debido mencionar, lo hizo perfectamente bien. 

The minimalism of the place contrast the folk brushstrokes that characterize Médium pieces, however the modernity and style of the brand are increasingly visible and blend perfectly with the concept, supported by the beautiful photographs of our partner Mauricio Diaz and the sensational model Kris Bailey, who joined our team for the first time and is due to mention, she did perfectly fine.


Espero que las fotografías de la colección “Neu” de Médium les conmuevan tanto como a mí, y que aprueben los nuevos diseños de Médium (como han visto en posts anteriores, ya me encuentro usando piezas de la nueva colección!).

Si tuviera que vestir de un solo color toda la vida elegiría el negro sin dudarlo. Es el color más misterioso, elegante y sofisticado. Además es muy favorecedor y ayuda a destacar los accesorios como ningún otro color. Por eso mi atuendo resultó perfecto para combinar con mi “statement necklace” de Médium, una de mis piezas favoritas de joyería actualmente.
If I had to dress in one single color  in my life,  without hesitation I choose the black. It is the most mysterious, elegant and sophisticated color. It is also very flattering and helps to highlight accessories like no other color. So my outfit was perfect to combine with my "statement necklace" from Médium, one of my favorite pieces of jewelry currently. 


Sin embargo estoy consiente de que el negro no es el favorito de todos. Para muchos simboliza luto y opacidad. Por eso me pregunto: ¿si tuvieran que elegir un solo color para vestir toda la vida, cual escogerían?
However I am aware that black everybody`s favorite. For some people symbolizes bereavement and opacity. So I wonder: if I had to pick only one color to wear in your lifetime, which would you choose?

2012 Trends: Soft Tech

2012 was a year full of minimalism, soft colors (contrasting last trend) and a lot of technology involved with fashion. To ipad sleeves to advanced fabrics with digital prints and laser cuts. In art, the trend of soft collages related with fashion was huge; we can also see the high tech collages of Clark Golsby.
In the other hand we got this eternal crush with the cute, fresh and free spirited trend. We have plenty of pastel colored inspirations, not only from this year. As always, we love the Wildfox lookbook full of fun and feminity, and yes, we love the full package of this trend in the college graduation collection of Yvone Kwok. The flower crowns were a big trend this year, to Tavi Gevinson to Lana del Rey using it everywhere.
A macaroon ice-creamed trend we got to love, includes an edition of Nicola Formichetti curating a Dazed and Confused issue. Kyary Pamyu in the cover.

El 2012 estuvo lleno de minimalismo, colores suaves (contrastando la tendencia mostrada anteriormente) y mucha tecnología involucrada con la moda. Desde fundas de Ipad a telas con tecnología implementada, estampados digitales y cortes con láser. En el arte, la tendencia de los collages suaves relacionados con moda fue muy grande; podemos mencionar los collages “High tech” de Clark Golsby.
De forma opuesta tenemos el amor eterno con la tendencia dulce, fresca, de espíritu libre. Tenemos incontables inspiraciones en colores pastel, no únicamente del 2012. Como siempre, amamos el lookbook de Wildfox, lleno de diversión y femineidad, al igual que el paquete completo de la tendencia incluido en la colección de graduación de Yvonne Kwok. Las coronas de flores fueron un gran acontecimiento, de Tavi Gevinson a Lana del Rey usándolas por todas partes.
Una tendencia de macaroons con helado que debemos amar, que además incluye la edición de Dazed and Confused curada por Nichola Formichetti con Kyaru Pamyu en la portada.

Art: The simplicity of Anatol

Me crucé con la obra del artista austriaco Anatol  y me identifique inmediatamente. Esa estética pseudo-miminalista, con énfasis en el contenido y la estructura, pero cuya simplicidad es siempre protagonista, anda rondando la atmósfera con bastante fuerza últimamente. Basta  con ver los diseños simples de plantillas para blogs que se han aplicado en clásicos que visitamos diariamente como The Sartorialist y Jak and Jil. El minimalismo siempre me ha gustado, me enamore de la obra de Mies Van de Rohe hace algunos años y aunque me declaro a mi misma un ser ecléctico, no puedo evitar sentir esta simpatía con las líneas simples y limpias que rondan con precisión, dando espacio para la libertad de pensamientos que manchen con ideas esas paredes blancas y nítidas.
Un factor importante en la obra de Anatol es el predominio de esta corriente minimalista con un toque moderno, materiales “de moda” y diversas técnicas. Anatol es un maestro de la pintura así como del arte de instalación. Me sorprende que tal como las técnicas y estética, el mensaje resulta ser minimalista también: simple, concreto, directo.

I crossed with the work of the Austrian artist Anatol and immediately I was identified with his work. This pseudo-minimalist esthetic, emphasized in the content and structures, but with simplicity as the protagonist, is around the atmosphere lately. Just to see the blogs designs applied in some classic sites we visit every day like “The Sartorialist” and “Jak and Jill”.
I always have been fan of Minimalism, I fell in love with Mies van de Rohe work some time ago and even when I declare myself eclectic, I can´t help but feel sympathy towards this simple and clean lines rounding with precision, giving space for mind freedom, staining with ideas the white and neat walls.
An important factor in the Anatol work is the predominance of this minimalist vibe mixed with a modern touch, “trendy” materials and different techniques. He is a master of installation art and painting. As the technique and esthetic, the message is minimalist as well: simple, concrete and direct.

Yesterday jam: My favorite things

One of my favorite things in the world is "My favorite things" song by John Coltrane. Do you ever felt the music getting  inside your skin and then you start to think why in the earth can be possible so much perfection in the imperfection? I guess that just happened with this outfit, was too comfortable, versatile and too unperfect to be true. Maybe because i was using some of my "favorite things": ebay wedges, oversized menswear shirt, vintage leopard printed jacket and the rings, ooh the rings! Let me introduce you to my new adquisition, a bunch of bugs full of bling over my hand. ( I was going to include this into my birthday outfit but i couldn´t wait!) Excuse the excess of pictures but, i needed to put all the details, all ALL the details.
And the first picture is just for fun.

A little late to post this but i feel is neccesary to show you this collection. First, the pieces are an actual "ready to wear", are not complicated at all and can be mixed with everything. The colors are basics, including the perfect and brilliant red color.  The minimilism is perfect for chunky accesories and shoes. Am not so happy about the shoes, actually i kinda dislike them. The ambivalence of Acne´s shoes is a reality, we love and hate Acne`s shoes. Still, i love this brand and i could wear everything of this collection.
