Three seasons have passed since I designed my last collection of complete pieces. That means that I made a pause of three seasons in my personal brand, is just a pause, not retirement (wait to see my designs for Médium soon!). In that moment I was thrilled with burgundy color, I remember the bougainvillea falling down the garden in my back yard, growing like foam showing off their vibrant color under the sun. The flowers are no longer with me but the deep love for the burgundy color and similar tones remain inside of me.
Burgundy was the central color of my collection (if you missed it clickhere), I found a perfect fabric with a jacquard design similar to the vintage chair prints, combined  with velvet and hand painted jersey resulted my collection, a relax and casual look with some formal touch to follow my goal to do versatile clothing, literally ready-to wear.

The sweater-dress I wore in the post is a unique piece, down the runway and sewed bead by bead with my hands (a night without sleeping. I inherited some blindness). It wasn´t possible to make more pieces, the beads embroidered were vintage earrings in their past life. In my defense, the design of the jewelry pieces weren´t pretty or interesting enough to be saved. The batwing sleeves are my absolute perdition, I always loved them and it was the opportunity to recreate them in a simple design, modern, in my nostalgic burgundy.
Notice the faux collar, a prototype designed by me that I couldn´t wait to wear, handmade of petals putted together in different layers of cold colors fabrics.

I am not the only inspired by burgundy because suddenly it became a color untying inspiration all over the places. My spoiled photographer Mauricio Diaz made this art-edition for this post:

  7. Oh my gosh - Maroon is my favorite color!! I seriously love this dress, and d I really like what you've done with the neckline.

The addition of your petal collar is so inspired, and I would never think to add it like that underneath a wide neckline, but it totally works. It definitely shows off the collar itself, without letting it get lost against the shirt (a mistake I commonly make).

Congrats on being such an awesome designer, and I'm glad that you're not "retired", can't wait to see more from you. Great model shots, as well.
