Yesterday Jam: Goodbye

This post is for goodbyes, so bring me the tequila bottle, we are going to start! Sometimes you just need to let go a few things, without any doubt I finally said goodbye to my mega long hair, now I am saying goodbye to one of my favorite dresses, a stretchy laser printed dress which I decided to let go to make another girl happy.

At the same time I am trying to say goodbye to many things in my life, I can´t tell I succeed but definitely the road I walked made me feel so damn right. So tell me, do you want to say goodbye to a few things like me? Which things do you want to let go? I warranty, you are going to feel lighter!

Yesterday jam: Vintage treasures

Maybe you saw our Giveaway post and notice one of this unpublished pictures. I am OBSSESED with Vintage coats, jacket and blazers, and i was in heaven when I met this baby in the thrift store some weeks ago.

I guess there is something magic in vintage treasures, the stories behind the piece, the mystery of the previous owner. Think in a positive way about a used piece was very hard for me at the beginning but at the end i got the crush with the unique pieces, the charming of an old design and old trends that never fades.

Is the previous owner of my military jacket alive? Is a guy or a girl? Is this jacket a heritage of  a genius mind,  lost in some corner of the world? Maybe some day I will know, the possibilities says that definitely i am not going to know but maybe History Chanel buy my story and makes a reality show to track all the previous owners of all my vintage closet.

Until that happened, i am going to wear this wonderful jacket, with my favorite last season modern pieces, like my Médium "Frida" block in color clutch and the "Moon" Médium necklace. And yes, for all of you who entered the giveaway, thank you so much, congratulation to the winner and stay tuned for more free love!

Beauty is made of details. Every object worth of appreciation is made of little pieces woven together to result into something that attract us to enjoy and watch, complexity to simplicity.

Fashion is a great example of details´emphasis and their function. To the right election of a textile, linens out of sight but present to satisfied the user, miniscule accessories with the power of change a fashion piece and little decisions of styling (or big decitions like changing the road of an outfit with a pair of sport sneakers or a 15 cms stilettos.)

You know I repeat this so many times, everytime I reblog detail pictures in tumblr and pinterest I can´t help but express my love to this kind of images, with a close-up to detail the amazing stretstyle outfits, those pretty things brought by internet, photography and their influences by dozens.

This post is to honor the details, even when am not doing justice enough, created with the Butterflies post.

What about a green printed cashmere sweater dress? What about the choker necklace? What about my desire to look a little bit preppy and fail in the rout? What about the Céline loafers I found silently hidden in the thrift store? What about my bad manicure? Nothing, nothing about that, is just the way I decided to pair my Thursday, an appetizer to match the great company and the bittersweet moments, it was a great day, my favorite soccer team won.

A regular day wearing a regular outfit with some of my favorite pieces. A lot of Zara and a little bit of vintage.

And then, the indoors only picture.  Minimalism, I am not even wearing my accesories fiesta.
La única foto de interiores. Minimalismo, no estoy usando mi tradicional fiesta de accesorios.

This is the dress i should buy in every single color. Damn, is not longer available.

I want to send you a basket full of baby kittens but they are temporary out of stock, so i only send my best wishes for this week. ( Speaking of kittens, you gotta see my post full of furry friends coming soon!)

The hypnosis caused by horizontal stripes can`t stop. Is an infinite labyrinth, mental chaos and the anxiety of can`t take off the view on such a small detail, detail full of order and cleanliness like the parallel horizontal lines. This is why this simple Zara dress is a piece to love for so many people, a summer investment from some seasons ago. I wore it with some of my favorite pieces, leather vest from Bershka, basket bag and my new acquisition, Cèline loafers.

Yesterdat jam: Nublado

Another rain plus? the layering. This  is my favorite season because is perfect to wear a lot of pieces and still an ocassional short skirt or dress. The texture mix is a MUST, i wore a classic combo of animal print, lace, leather and studs. Have a nice week!

Yesterday jam: the last sheet of summer books

For a lot of people summer is just starting, for us, summer is giving up to the first rain drops. If you live in countries with similar weather as Guatemala you may know that every time you left home,  umbrella and sweater must be with you even when is sunny out there. Of course, if is cold outside there is the possibility of dying of a high heat and excess of winter baggage so is necessary to use multiply layers easy to remove.

This outfit is an example of that rare season we call “transitional season”. Not summer, not anything (since little people told me that this country only got two seasons, I just can´t believe that yet). When people ask me about the perfect fabrics for transitional season I recommend cotton, all the time. Original denim is made of 100% of cotton fibers, that makes denim a huge favorite because keeps you fresh and absorb humidity with a quickly evaporation process if you pick designs with thin fabric. Denim shirts are also a great favorite of LAZYCATSTYLE, you can see a lot of posts featuring this versatile material, after all the functional issues,  there is always going to be the style part,  where denim is the master of ready-to-wear outfits, giving us a infinite possibilities of mix and match, even in semi-formal occasions. (Don´t be shy, dear to wear it!).

( No sean tímidos, atrevanse a usarlo!).

Flower prints are major this season, one of our trends featured in Collage trend:s Parte 1 (click to visit). When it comes to prints we must remember that the volume is going  directly to the printed piece, especially if the colors are light, we got big patterns and the shape of the piece is not the right according to each kind of body. (I prefer high waist and drop crotch designs, I look smaller in those!). My pick was an abstract flower printed pants, designed for me for caprice I must confess, is not part of a collection.

Remember to add accessories!! Sunglasses are essential, even when is raining out there. The rain is not here yet so this is my last chance to wear sandals for outdoors. The basket handbag gives some extra summer touch and the arm party is optional. I changed it for a metal cuff and rings, you know how much I love rings! ) Add a contrast nail lacquer and light make-up to complete the outfit.

Have a wonderful weekend full of joy and add some stylish touch to your life to make everything better! Remember to like us on FACEBOOK and follow our blog in BLOGLOVIN’.

Three seasons have passed since I designed my last collection of complete pieces. That means that I made a pause of three seasons in my personal brand, is just a pause, not retirement (wait to see my designs for Médium soon!). In that moment I was thrilled with burgundy color, I remember the bougainvillea falling down the garden in my back yard, growing like foam showing off their vibrant color under the sun. The flowers are no longer with me but the deep love for the burgundy color and similar tones remain inside of me.
Burgundy was the central color of my collection (if you missed it clickhere), I found a perfect fabric with a jacquard design similar to the vintage chair prints, combined  with velvet and hand painted jersey resulted my collection, a relax and casual look with some formal touch to follow my goal to do versatile clothing, literally ready-to wear.

The sweater-dress I wore in the post is a unique piece, down the runway and sewed bead by bead with my hands (a night without sleeping. I inherited some blindness). It wasn´t possible to make more pieces, the beads embroidered were vintage earrings in their past life. In my defense, the design of the jewelry pieces weren´t pretty or interesting enough to be saved. The batwing sleeves are my absolute perdition, I always loved them and it was the opportunity to recreate them in a simple design, modern, in my nostalgic burgundy.
Notice the faux collar, a prototype designed by me that I couldn´t wait to wear, handmade of petals putted together in different layers of cold colors fabrics.

I am not the only inspired by burgundy because suddenly it became a color untying inspiration all over the places. My spoiled photographer Mauricio Diaz made this art-edition for this post:

Yesterday Jam: leather

The last seasons gave us a huge offer of leather products in different texture, size and finishes ( for blessing of some crowd and delirium of others). My closet is the main witness of this facts. Playing with basic colors and a bit of neutrals I route to find the excess of leather, in a day when the clowdy sky subtracted temperature and my serenity race enough to remove the pants I learned to wear like a second skin this days.

My sweater is Ana González. Shoes from Australian store, Pull and Bear bag, HoH sunnies and Zara Pants. The big cross is from Pixie.
